Momentum continues to build as Run with Her 2026, presented by local Shoppers Drug Mart, prepares for its biggest year yet. Now entering its fifth annual 5K, the event has grown into a cornerstone community gathering, bringing together supporters committed to making a meaningful local impact.
After selling out in 2025 with more than 500 runners and walkers, organizers have expanded capacity to 700 participants for 2026. The growth reflects both the enthusiasm surrounding the event and the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting women and families facing housing instability. What began as a smaller initiative has quickly become the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year.
The 2025 event raised more than $73,000 thanks to strong community support and the continued partnership with Shoppers Drug Mart. Those funds directly supported programs that help women and families access safety, stability, and pathways toward housing. The impact of the event extends far beyond race day, strengthening services throughout the year.
This year’s run will take place on September 27 at McHugh Park and promises something for everyone. The day will feature the signature 5K run, a kids run, family-friendly activities before the event, and a cheque presentation celebrating the community’s collective impact. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, participants are encouraged to run, walk, or simply come out to cheer and show support.
Alongside expanded participation, organizers are also increasing opportunities for community partnership. For the first time, additional Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Trail sponsorships are available to complement the signature presenting sponsorship from Shoppers Drug Mart. These new levels invite local businesses and organizations to play a visible role in one of the community’s fastest-growing events.
Run with Her is more than a race. It is a celebration of resilience, connection, and collective action. Every registration, sponsorship, and show of support helps strengthen programs for women and families who need them most.
