At the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Families, we provide support tailored specifically to families experiencing homelessness. Our emergency shelter welcomes families with dependent children, whether led by single parents, dual-parent households, or other caregivers. Understanding that each family’s experience of homelessness is unique, we prioritize the well-being of both parents and children.
With the growing number of families facing homelessness, we acknowledge the challenge of limited shelter space and lack of affordable housing. To address this, we collaborate closely with families to provide timely housing assistance and explore ways to increase income to be able to afford private market rentals. We aim to ensure that shelter stays are brief while also preserving space for those in urgent need.
